Sellers reach buyers who have been checked and approved rather than whoever answers a classified advert. That is what turns a listing into a price instead of into a fortnight of phone calls from people who never intended to buy.
An inspected vehicle goes through 135 points across 19 categories. Engine and drivetrain, transmission, brakes, suspension and steering, the body and paint read for accident repair, the electricals and the air conditioning, tyres, and the interior. Every point is marked pass, needs attention or fail, and the vehicle gets an overall condition grade.
It also covers the things a photograph cannot show you: the distance travelled checked against the vehicle rather than against the dial, accident and flood history, and the registration file and legal title. The inspector writes up the highlights and the flaws in plain words at the end, so you are not left interpreting a table on your own.
That report is published on the listing, which means you read the same one the seller paid for. Sellers we have approved can publish without an inspection, and those listings carry a plain "not inspected by Carbid" note on the card and on the page rather than quietly leaving the section empty.
Not everything here is sold by bidding. A seller can put an asking price on the listing instead, and those vehicles are on the fixed-price listings page with no clock on them at all. You can take a week to think about it, and once you are signed in the seller's phone number is on the page so you can call and arrange to see it.
An auction is the other route. It runs to a published closing time, the price is set by whoever else turns up, and nobody gets the seller's number, because the auction is the negotiation and a private call only works around it. Both kinds go through the same inspection and carry the same report.
If you want a vehicle that is heading to auction without waiting for the clock, you can make an offer on its page. Our team decides it rather than the seller, the offer has to beat the current bid by a set margin, and that margin is checked again at the moment we accept rather than at the moment you sent it.
Carbid handles motorcycles, scooties, rickshaws, pickups, trucks, buses and vans, tractors, heavy machinery and trailers as well as cars. The details asked for follow the vehicle, so a tractor is asked for engine hours rather than a distance travelled, and a container for its length.
That matters most at the commercial end of the market, where a buyer in Multan and a seller in Gujranwala have no way to meet except through somebody they both have to trust. An inspection report and a public bidding record do that job for a tractor exactly the way they do for a Corolla.
Bidding is online and nationwide, but a vehicle is a physical thing and it sits wherever its seller is. Every listing says which city it is registered in and where it is, so you know that before you bid rather than after.
When you win, our team contacts you to arrange payment, the handover and the transfer of the file. Carbid does not run a delivery service, so moving the vehicle is settled between you and the seller with us in the middle. If a live sale is being held in a hall you can also come and bid in the room on a paddle, and the room and the screen are the same auction at the same price.
Browsing is free and so is an account. Before you can bid you ask for access on that listing and send the deposit it shows to one of the accounts printed on the page, by bank transfer or mobile wallet. Someone on our team checks the payment arrived and approves you, so it is a person looking rather than an automatic gate and it is not instant. You are told either way, in the app and by email.
If you do not win, the deposit is refunded in full. If you do, it comes off the price. Sellers pay for the inspection, and the current fee is on the booking form before anything is committed: one figure if we come to the vehicle, a lower one if the vehicle comes to one of our inspection points.
Nothing is charged to a card on this site yet. Deposits, balances and rental upfronts are all paid to us or to the partner out of band and confirmed by a member of staff, and we would rather write that down than let the checkout page imply otherwise.

Yes, and it comes back. The amount is set per auction and is shown on the listing before you ask for access. If you do not win it is refunded in full. If you win it comes off the price. Nobody can place a bid without being approved first, which is what stops an auction being run up by people who were never going to pay.
The clock extends. If a bid lands inside the final seconds of an auction, the closing time moves out again by the amount shown on that listing, and it keeps doing that until nobody bids. It means the highest bidder wins rather than the fastest connection, and it is why a Carbid auction can close a few minutes after its published time.
The lowest price the seller will accept. Bidding can go below it, but the car only sells if the highest bid reaches it. When an auction ends under the reserve we say 'reserve not met' rather than pretending it sold. Some auctions carry a 'no reserve' badge, which means the highest bid wins whatever it is.
Because on an auction the price is decided by everybody who turned up rather than by one seller's opinion, which usually means a buyer does not overpay and a seller does not get talked down. If you would rather not bid, Carbid also lists vehicles at a fixed price with no clock on them, and both kinds go through the same inspection.

Yes. At a live sale you register at the desk, we give you a paddle number and our staff enter your bids at the rostrum. Room bids and online bids are the same auction and the same price on the same screen, and each bid records who placed it and how, so the history explains itself afterwards.

Deposits, rental upfronts and offer payments are all paid to us or to the rental company out of band, and a member of staff confirms the payment arrived before anything is marked confirmed. Card payment through the platform is planned but is not built.
